1. Information We Collect

• Account Information: Email address and name when you create an account.
• Book Content: Outlines, chapter drafts, and manuscript data you create using the platform.
• API Keys: If you use the BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) model, your AI provider API keys are stored encrypted and used only for your book generation requests.
• Payment Information: Processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.
• Usage Data: Book generation history, word counts, and feature usage for service improvement.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Generate and deliver your book manuscripts
• Process payments via Stripe
• Improve book generation quality and platform features
• Communicate about your account and service updates

3. Your Book Content

You own your content. All book manuscripts, outlines, and creative content generated through InkEngine belong to you. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your generated books. We do not use your book content to train AI models or share it with third parties.

4. API Key Security

If you provide your own AI API keys (BYOK model), they are stored encrypted at rest and transmitted only over TLS connections to the respective AI provider. Keys are never logged, shared, or used for any purpose other than processing your requests.

5. Third-Party Services

• Stripe: Payment processing. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• AI Providers (Anthropic, OpenAI): Your content is sent to AI providers for generation. See their respective privacy policies for how they handle API requests.
• AWS SES: Email delivery. See AWS Privacy Policy.

We do not sell or share your personal data for marketing purposes.

6. Data Storage and Security

Data is stored on secured, privately-hosted servers with restricted access. All connections use TLS encryption. API keys are encrypted at rest.

7. Data Retention

Your account and book data are retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time. Upon deletion, all manuscripts, account data, and stored API keys are permanently removed within 30 days.

• Access and download all your book content at any time
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Revoke stored API keys at any time
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format

9. Cookies

InkEngine uses session cookies for authentication. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels.

10. Children's Privacy

InkEngine is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email.
